2008/05/18 : Gabon is right accross the Equator and enjoys the strategic position of base station for the follow up of Ariane launches from French Guyana by the European Space Agency. All this from NKOTANG ground station in the northern part of Libreville, the capital. Isn't this an additional reason for stronger ties with the Astronomy & Space Science (ASS) community for more visible AAS activities in Gabon both during and after the International Year of Astronomy 2009 (IYA09).
